"Non-abelian anyons and

topological quantum computation"

Abstract

The main topic of this seminar is the theory of non-Abelian anyons.
The exotic statistical properties of such excitations make it possible
to set up quantum computational schemes based on robust topological
properties as those of knots and braids. Although still in its
infancy, topological quantum computation promises to be the catalysis
for a very productive merging of ideas coming from several fields of
physics, mathematics and computer science.
