 Dear colleague, 

After two very successful editions in Grenoble, France (2009) and Reykjavik, Iceland (2010), 
the Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing - Evolution in Remote Sensing (WHISPERS) 
is moving to Lisbon, Portugal in june 2011. 
This third edition will be hosted by Profs. Jose Bioucas Dias and Antonio Plaza. 

The aim of WHISPERS is to gather together different communities dealing 
with spectroscopy or hyperspectral data, from sensor design to physical model, 
from applications in biomedical imagery to precision agriculture and defense related issues, 
from handy spectrometers to airborne sensing and satellite missions.

Please note the following issues related to the conference: 
- the conference has a full paper submission policy 
- all the papers are peer-reviewed 
- accepted papers, presented during the conference (as a poster or an oral presentation), 
 are included in the conference proceedings. The proceedings are available on-site. 
- accepted papers are archived and citeable publications. They are also available online through IEEE Xplore after the conference (go to http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/  then, select "browse / Conference proceedings", look for whispers) 

** special session: you may get involved in the conference, organize and chair a special session on a topic of interest: please refer to the conference website and be in touch. 

** Exhibitors and sponsors: companies may join as sponsors or exhibitors.
