will give a talk entitled

A personal progress report on local Calabi-Yau threefolds

Abstract:
In this talk we will review some of the motivations and interest in
considering classes of non-compact Calabi-Yau threefolds, and provide
examples of such threefolds. We will then specialize to linear fibrations
on smooth curves, the local curves, and propose a tentative classification
of those objects.
