Workshop on "CONTROL, OPTIMIZATION AND STABILITY OF NON-LINEAR SYSTEMS:
GEOMETRIC AND ANALYTIC METHODS"
SISSA/ISAS, Trieste, Italy, May 30, 31 - June 1 2007
details and program at: http://people.sissa.it/~chtch/Workshop2007.html

The Workshop, organized by the research group of Geometric Control Theory of SISSA/ISAS (Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati/International School of Advanced Studies, Trieste, Italy), aims at presenting the recent advances and future perspectives of the Non-Linear Control Theory and its Applications. The problems which are going to be discussed are of various nature and deal both with the analysis of the structural properties of parametrically dependent differential equations (such as controllability, classification of invariants, geometric structure of the reachable set) and with their regulation according to some task or cost, in particular, necessary and sufficient conditions of optimal control, existence and regularity of minimizers, structure of the singular sets. Other topics to be discussed in the Workshop include stabilization and feedback design, feedback synthesis in presence of large scale interconnections, nonlinearities and discontinuities. Workshop keywords:
- Structural properties of control systems;
- Optimal control;
- Calculus of Variations and Hamilton-Jacobi Equations;
- Feedback control and stabilization;
- Quantum control.

The Workshop will also include a special session dedicated to the 80-th anniversary of prof. R.V. Gamkrelidze.
