Abstract: Planck is the third space mission dedicated to the measurement of the Cosmic Microwave Background anisotropies that will be mapped with unprecedented accuracy by two instruments in the 30-900 GHz frequency range. The presentation will present an overview of the satellite, optical system and instruments, showing how technology, instrumental design and software pipeline are deeply linked with the Planck scientific goals.
