  Abstract

The successful observation of negative specific in nanoclusters 
triggers hot theoretical explorations as to how applying statistical 
mechanics to finite-sized systems. In this talk, we will use a simple 
model, free particles in the well, to show the existence the negative 
heat capacity for a system with a finite number of particles.
