"Extended weak coupling limit for open quantum systems"


Abstract: Consider a small quantum system
interacting with a reservoir. It is well known
that its reduced dynamics converges in the weak
coupling (van Hove) limit to a Markov dynamics.
One expects that the full dynamics should in some
sense converge to a certain dilation of that
Markov dynamics. In the literature there
exists a well known proposal how to implement
this intuition contained in the work of
Accardi-Frigerio-Lu. I will describe a
somewhat different approach to this idea, based on
a recent work with W.De Roeck.
