" A fuzzy description of Quantum Hall Physics "

Abstract

Noncommutative Chern-Simons action has been proposed as an effective
description of the dynamics of infinite Quantum Hall samples projected
into the lowest Landau level. A special kind of regularization of this
model gives rise to a matrix Chern-Simons theory, that can be used to
describe finite droplets. I will try to give a self-contained and
physically motivated introduction to both noncommutative Chern-Simons
theory and its matrix version, and their application to Fractional
Quantum Hall Effect.
