WORKSHOP ON GEOMETRY AND PHYSICS

a conference organized by the JOURNAL OF GEOMETRY
AND PHYSICS to commemorate Prof. Andre'
Lichnerowicz, its first chairman

Trieste, 27-29 June 2007


A conference is being held at the International
School for Advanced Studies in Trieste to
commemorate Andre' Lichnerowicz, co-founder of the
Journal of Geometry and Physics, and its first
chairman.

The programme of the conference will include talks
by members of the Editorial Board of the Journal
and by other speakers on the topics that are of
central interest to the Journal (geometry of
string and quantum field theory, classical field
theory and mechanics, integrable systems,
noncommutative geometry....). Please note that
only invited contributions will be included in the
programme.

Prof. Andre' Lichnerowicz's figure and scientific
work will be commemorated by Prof. Jean-Pierre
Bourguignon.

A scientific programme will be circulated soon.
Prospective speakers include J.-P. Bourguignon,
C.J.T. Dodson, B. Dubrovin, S. Gidinkin, J.
Kijowski, G. Landi, Le Dung Trang, Mathai
Varghese. (Please note that only invited speakers
will be included in the programme.)
