"T-duality in the supersymmetric theory of disordered quantum systems"

	Abstract

Two variants of supermatrix field theory are discussed that describe
statistics of disordered quantum systems, e.g. random matrix
Hamiltonians. One of them (nonlinear supersymmetric sigma model) is
suitable for description of disordered systems with delocalized
eigenfunctions and strongly correlated spectral statistics (disordered
metals), the other is convenient for systems with localized or
quasi-localized eigenfunctions. These two variants of theory are dual
to each other but defined on the target space of supermatrices with
different symmetry ("T-duality"). An implication of the symmetry
difference for disordered one-dimensional single-and multi-channel
systems is discussed.
