Abstract:
In this seminar two computational approaches to the Protein 
Structure Prediction Problem will be presented, developed by the 
computational biology group of the University of Udine. The first method 
is a global optimization technique on lattices. The second one, instead, 
is a concurrent optimization schema for off-lattice reduced models. At 
the end of the talk some considerations will be drawn on relationships 
between computations, concurrency, and problems related to protein 
folding and protein structure prediction.
