"Electronic properties of graphene and graphitic bilayers"

Abstract

Electrons in graphitic monolayers (graphene) and bilayers have very
unusual properties: these are chiral quasiparticles which are
characterized by the Berry phase Pi (in graphene) and 2Pi (in a
bilayer). The chirality of quasiparticles manifests itself in a
peculiar Landau level spectrum and in the form of the quantum Hall
effect. It also generates specific quantum transport characteristics,
such as selective transmission and magneto-resistance in ballistic n-p
junctions in graphene, and it gives rise to a rich variety of weak
localisation regimes in a monolayer and a bilayer.
