Dear Konstantin,
If you want to read only one book, by far the best single
reference is Holton's text on Dynamic Meteorology. This is the
standard textbook on the topic. There is a new version by Holton
and Hakim but older versions remain quite useful.

Dear RegCM users and developers,
I'm a beginer in climate modeling and physics of atmoshere. I try
to understand all steps thoroughly. Especialy, how to derivate the
model dynamic equations, presented in User Manual, from basic
equations?
I read some references from User Manual and MM5 documentation, it
was helpful, but not enough detail.
I had tried to do it independently and almost succeeded to get
horizontal momentum equation in sigma-coordinates, but still
didn't understood how map factor appears.
Could you advise me some other manuals, article or books about
this problem? I will be very grateful for any references.
Best Regards,
