I think before regrid, the winds from RegCM4.4 outputs have to be rotated from a grid-relative sense to an Earth-relative sense.
Is there a tool to rotate the UV wind ?

Hi all,

In RegCM3, the rcm2grid.ncl script was useful to convert rotated Mercator projection to lat-lon grid. As there is no OUT_HEAD.CTL in RegCM4, this script will not work. How this problem is handled in RegCM4? Will regrid function convert rotated mercator to lat-lon grid?

We are currently taking advantage of the capabilities of the cdo program to regrid the RegCM output netCDF file. The regrid script is just helping you to create the command line and an helper file for cdo. You may want to check directly anyway on the cdo manual.

Note that if using NCL you should be able to adapt the script you have anyway, as the informations in the OUT_HEAD are in the netCDF file itself.
