Dear Colleagues,
We would like to encourage you to submit an abstract to Session GC033 of the Fall 2013 American Geophysical Union Meeting in San Francisco (December 09-13): General Circulation Model Downscaling for Impact, Vulnerability and Adaption Assessments: Methodologies
and Applications. The goal of this session is to discuss the capabilities and limitations of downscaled climate data, and the implications of these capabilities and limitations on applied climate studies.
The session description is as follows: "Downscaling methodologies are now routinely used to translate coarse-resolution General Circulation Model output to the scales needed for climate change impact, adaptation and vulnerability studies. While the popularity
of downscaling techniques is steadily increasing, a considerable debate about their added value and uncertainty sources has emerged. This session will bring together researchers from multiple disciplines to address current issues in downscaled data creation
and use. Contributions on statistical, dynamical and hybrid methodologies of downscaling seasonal to multi-decadal reanalyses and projections, as well as their applications, are welcome."
We look forward to a stimulating set of talks and posters, and hope that you will consider participating. Please note that the strict deadline for abstract submission is August 6th 23:59ET/3:59+1GMT. The submission site is:
