I am attempting to post process the model output using the provided post processing programs. I attempted to run the average.sh program but keep getting the following error

ncrcat: ERROR tmp.nc neither exists locally nor matches remote filename patterns

cdo timmean: Open failed on >tmp2.nc<
No such file or directory

I am working in a Linux environment and I have version 1.5.3 of CDO installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
