Dear Felipe
Thank you very much for noticing the same problem we have faced. We (Sridhara Nayak and Suman Maity) have also checked with different projection and found the problem is because of the projection. Well, our wind field is now very similar with the source data after using LAMCON (Lambert Conformal) projection.  Did you have checked the temperature data with pressure level in between 700 and 1000? We have still noticed the temperature data with LAMCON projection represents very different values at high altitudes (above 4500meter).

Thank You
Sridhara Nayak

Dear friends,

I'm from Brazil and I'm using RegCM model for my doctoral thesis. I use version 4.1 and noticed that the wind data preprocessed by ICBC are somewhat different when using NORMER (Normal Mercator) projection. When I use ROTMER (Rotated Mercator) projection to generate the initial and boundary conditions, wind fields generated by ICBC and the source data are very similar. Other variables generated by ICBC do not differ from source data. I tested this in versions 4.1.1 and 4.2 and the error persists in relation to the wind field.

Recently, Suman Maity from India reported a similar problem, though he had not related to different map projections.

Someone confirm if this bug is really happening? If so, there is correction?

If someone wants, I can attach the pictures in the email.

Thank you,
Felipe.
