Dear
RegCM users
This is Suman Maity from IIT KHARAGPUR, INDIA. As we know the output generated by CLM is a netcdf file, but due to calendar problem, grads can't plot them. I have explored and made a lot of tries but not succeeded.Since there is no time information and every file is for a single time period, It is impossible to write a descriptor file for the .nc files. Also with CDO(changing the "noleap" option to "standard gregorian" by setcalendar), though the files are opening in grads but it can't plot the files correctly(dimensions are varying from "nan" in grads). Also I have checked by ncdump that the 1st two values of lat as well as lon are equal. Same is true for last two values. I have no other option to try. Please suggest any suggestion so that the files can be plotted correctly without any problem. Also another thing I have tried is the newly developed patches for the calendar problem for CLM. Everything is going fine but when I am running the model it complains and stops with the error:
Attempting to read PFT physiological data .....
(GETFIL): attempting to find local file pft-physiology.c070207
(GETFIL): using /home/suman/test/simulation/input/pft-physiology.c070207
(OPNFIL): Successfully opened file /home/suman/test/simulation/input/pft-physiology.c070207 on unit= 1

Not a valid calendar type for this implementation
This implementation only allows ESMF_CAL_GREGORIAN
calender type set to = 3
GREGORIAN calendar type is = 1
init_calendar: error return from ESMF_CalendarSet

MPI_ABORT was invoked on rank 0 in communicator MPI_COMM_WORLD
with errorcode 1.
NOTE: invoking MPI_ABORT causes Open MPI to kill all MPI processes.
You may or may not see output from other processes, depending on
exactly when Open MPI kills them.

Hence what to do in the next? I am requesting the administrators that please make the code in such a way that the output of CLM is also can be plotted with grads.
Thanking you all,
'S Maity'
