at first, u could open with panoply(NASA GISST) or ncview. both of them are easy to draw netcdf. and if u would be using GraADs, i suggest u should use sdfopen *.nc. perhaps u would meet warning the file without x-coordinary. in that case,u could write a ctl file for netcdf. at last i am sorry that RegCM4.1 could only output in netcdf format. if u still wanted output file in binary formate, u could use ncdump or cdo -f copy *.nc *.grb(dat).

Dear RegCM4.1ers,
I just tried to run a test of RegCM4.1.
But I found that this version of model can only output file format of NETCDF.
Moreover, these netcdf files can't be opened by GrADS.
Because I am not familiar with other visualization tools, so can anyone tell me
how to output file of CTL+BINARY?
