Hello Xingtao Su,

Yes, you need to update the values of the dust optical properties for each subsize (bins) using AeroNet data or using Mie theory. Within this e-mail I attached the Mie code which could be used for different types of aerosols NOT only dust.  Then you need to work within the dust code in RegCM to add the new subzise ( 5.00-10.0 and 10.0-20.0 micron ), see the dust emission/dust dry deposition/ dust initial subroutines. Also, you need to check the same procedure for the dust-radiation interaction.  It is not one to one corresponding,  you need to spend sometime to understand the code.

Cheers
Ashraf

Dear all,

I am sorry to take your time. Based on the default 4 dust bin size, I want to divide the 4th dust bin size (5.00-20.0micron) into two groups(5.00-10.0 and 10.0-20.0micron) for dust/climate feedback interactions. I want to know what I need to do besides calculating the optical properties of 5 dust bins.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

With my best regards,

Xingtao Su
