Dear Isamila,

I am sorry I was forgot to tell you that to change the permission of 'xconv'.
Please do this
  chmod a+x /usr/bin/xconv
But be super user before doing this.
Done!
You are almost there.

Dear Ismaila,

First, are you downloaded the correct binary for your platform? Because there are different binaries for different platforms(make sure 32bit and 64bit versions). Second, I do not know why create a symbolic link but this is what I did.

To make short a long name of the binary.
 mv  xconvR81.91   xconv
This does not matter, you can give what ever name you like. Then
 mv  xconv  /usr/bin
Now exit from this terminal and open another one. When you type 'xconv' the xconv application window will open. You can use what ever options allowed by the package next to xconv. like 'xconv -i *.ctl'.

It works for me. I hope it will to you too.

Dear Ismaila,

You can get the xconv package from this web site.
'http://badc.nerc.ac.uk/help/software/xconv/ ' It is a binary pacakge. So after unzipping it place it any 'bin' directory in which its environment is exported. like
 /usr/bin ...etc

I hope this helps

Dear Regcnet,

i've run regcm4, transformed the output's run in daily and mouthly. these data
are in .ctl, now i would like to convert the .ctl in netcdf format. Therefore
i've known the way that i must follow to do this purpose. i've two grads version

( GrADS Version 2.0.a7 and GrADS Version 1.9b4) and .ctl can be opened with both

grads.
Could someone hepls me to find a way allowing me to convert the .ctl data in
.nc.

PS! someone suggest me to use Xconv to convert my .ctl data but i haven't also
Xconv.
hope to get your helps.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Duan Wei:

You know, regcm4 use dynamic memory, so you have to type

ulimit -s unlimited (if you use bash)

or

limit stacksize unlimited (if you use tcsh)

before you run regcmSerial (even before you run terrain)

Good luck !
