Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what version of CLM will be used in RegCM4?

thanks,
Kathleen

Hi Michael and all

first of all, RegCM4 will have a new coding structure working on an SVN
framework, from F77 to F90, better for parallelization and more
streamlined and user friendly. This code streamlining will also be done
for the preŽand post processors. From the point of view of physics it will
have the CLM land surface, a diurnal ocean SST scheme, and an improved
aerosol scheme including dust, SO4, simple OC and BC and sea salt. All
this should be ready for the June workshop. In the works are full coupled
gas phase chemistry and coupled ROMS ocean. For these, coupled RegCM3
versions are available, but need to be implemented in regCM4, so may not
be ready for the June workshop, but hopefully in the not distant future.
Also in the make is semi-lagrangian advection, although this may still
need a few months to be fully operational.

In the longer term we have somebody working on a non hydrostatic version
using finite volume elements and plans to include new convection (Tiedtke)
and cloud microphysics.

I hope I did not forget anything,   cheers,  Filippo
