Hello,
While Hamaza soy has told you how to install IFC, let me share my experience when installing PGI compiler.
I remember since Ubuntu6.10 as well as Fedora6,SUSE10( or OpenSuse 10), its glic's version is higher than 2.5. so ,if your PGI's version below 7.2( maybe 7.1-6), it would said " the glibc is too high to install"( I can't remember that error message exactly), then there are two way to solve this problem: 1. you can modify "makelocalrc" in $PGI/bin to suit your OS's glibc version. 2. copy heigher version's "makelocalre" to yours befor install (I recommend this method).
Hope this do some help.
PS: I'm not "UBUNTO User", I'm Ubuntu user.
