      We know that models often need the initial soil moisture when running them. For example, the  "REGRID" module of MM5 provide the initial soil moisture fields. But I don't find where the initial soil moisture fields come from when running RegCM3. Are they the forecast results of BATS ? If yes, could you please tell me which subroutines provide the soil moisture of forecast ? And how do they transfer informations each other ? What are the material flows of those programs in RegCM3 ?

     If you know these problems, please tell me. I will be very grateful for your kindhearts.
