Subject: Re: Re: [RegCNET] where is the interface of aerosol and ra diation module?

Hi,Febien!
Thanks for your enthusiastic help! It's very helpful to me. Now I am across some  problems once more. There are so many routines that I can't get the called sequence of the routines from aerosol datasets input to calculating their climate effects, such as When aeroppt.F is called,I wondered!
And I can't get some variable meaning:In aeroppt.cb,what dose 'npsi' surrogate ? why  its value is 19,not others?what dose 'ncoef' surrogate ? why  its value is 5,not others? What does 'kscoef','ksbase' meaning? number of 'kscoef'and 'ksbc' is 19 but that of 'ksbase' is 5*19,why?
So many problems! Please help again! Thanks in advance!Hope for your reply!
  your sincerely,
Jianwei Zhou

Hi Jianwei

chia and chib are 4d (x,y,x, trac) arrays representing the different

tracer fields that you can choose for as simulation . The SW radiative

properties of the aerosol mixing are calculated in aeroppt.F and they

use some data ( extinction, single scattering albedo and assymetry

parameter) relative to each individual tracer, and defined in

/Main/Common/aeroppt.cb. In aeroppt are calculated the effective

radiative parameters that are used then by the SW code ( radcsw.F and

radclr.F routines ) . The activation of the coupling is piloted by the

variable idirect in the regcm.in : idirect = 2 means that you allows the

radiative perturbation linked to aerosol to feedback in the atmosphere,

idirect 1 , you just calculate a radiative forcing without modifying the

atmospheric fields.

Hope it helps.
