Dear Members of the RegCNET,
To investigate the effect of land cover dynamics on climate variables, we plan to use the activation of the dynpft module in the RegCM4.7-CLM4.5 coupled model. I have now modified the file mksurfdata.F90 and implemented the RegCM4.7-CLM4.5 model. Although I have consulted various sources, I have not found detailed information explaining what land cover information the RegCM-CLM model uses when run with the unmodified mksurfdata.F90 file to simulate past and future periods. Additionally, when I run RegCM-CLM with dynpft enabled (using the modified mksurfdata.F90 file), what land cover information will be used to simulate past and future periods? Essentially, are the results of these two implementations comparable to each other? Can they adequately express the dynamic effect of land cover on the climate of a region in the past and the future?Sincerely,
