        Project Scientist I - Future Climate change over North America

We are excited to announce a new full-time Project Scientist I position 
in NCAR’s Research Applications Lab.

The new hire will conduct independent and collaborative research on 
projects related to future climate change and its uncertainty over North 
America. They will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing climate 
research projects focused on topics such as drought, wildfire, extreme 
precipitation, and heat as well as to develop their topical research 
interests.

This role will help create a decision-relevant climate dataset by 
performing high-resolution dynamical climate simulations over North 
America. This will include configuring and running regional and variable 
resolution climate models and supporting the data post-processing and 
analysis efforts. They will also contribute to the development of an 
actionable climate science program by contributing to new grants and 
proposals and developing collaborations with external partners. 
Additionally, they may contribute to the development of next-generation 
regional climate capabilities, including earth system emulators.
