[RegCNET] Conversion of rainfall to mm/day

Sir,
Hope this email finds you well. The precipitation we obtain from RegCM
model output is in kgm2s-1 . If we need to convert it to mm/day ,  the
conventional method is multiplying the precipitation with 86400(24*60*60).
But this method seems to over estimate the precipitation a lot . When the
observation over the tropics is showing a maximum of 53 mm/day , the model
output ranges upto 90mm/day . Is any other method possible? Awaiting your
response.
