The call for the 4th edition of the Master in High Performance Computing
has been extended till 17 July to allow people interested in
HPC and Earth Science to apply to the Master and then apply to the 4
scholarship offered by HPC-TRES program.
The program HPC-TRES is ready to offer 4 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR YOUNG MASTER
GRADUATES UNDER 30, to create HPC experts in the field of earth
sciences. Students involved in the program will follow MHPC courses and
then take a thesis in one of the Italian institutes that adhere to the
HPC-TRES program, with all the expenses covered by the scholarship.
All the details are here:

Please send your application to the master http://www.mhpc.it/how-apply
and then apply for the scholarship at the above link
About the MHPC:
----------------
The Master in High Performance Computing (MHPC) is an innovative degree
program that prepares students for exciting careers in the fast-growing
field of HPC. MHPC is a high-level degree program (Level 7 EU
Qualifications Framework) and set in the stimulating research
environment of its co-organizing institutions, SISSA and ICTP, in the
city of Trieste (Italy).
MHPC is intended for people who have a strong interest in IT and want to
develop their careers through new technologies.
The program combines lectures with hands-on and applied projects to
prepare future HPC specialists who will have a solid background in
scientific computing approaches, algorithms, and modeling. Students who
complete the course will be able to address problems requiring advanced
computational techniques both in scientific and industrial fields.
An HPC graduate has unique chances to find the right job in the high
technology market or academic scene.
Master students will benefit from state-of-the-art, large-scale HPC
infrastructures installed at SISSA/ICTP campus.
The courses are delivered by an international faculty of renowned
experts in HPC, both from academia and companies. HPC vendors, IDVs and
local companies are involved in the financing of fellowships and in
providing industry-based HPC problems for final thesis.
The master lasts 12 months and is founded on three pillars:
Advanced and parallel programming, software engineering, numerical
analysis, data analytics, computing hardware, and cluster administration.
Fundamental algorithms and strategies common to many scientific HPC
applications.
Student-developed, practical HPC projects created in close cooperation
with leading scientific groups and in a stimulating industrial environment.
For the fourth edition of the master we plan to have between 10 to 15
students.
