Dear RegCNETers
with this email I wanted to announce that the application site for the May
12-23, 2014 RegCM4 workshop is now open. To apply you just need to do
the following:
Go to the ICTP site,
then- Scientific Calendar, 2014,
then- Seventh ICTP Workshop on the Theory and Use of Regional
Climate Models
then - Activity information
then - Enter online application form
As with previous editions, this will be an extremely exciting event, which
will feature an updated version of RegCM4 including (we hope) coupling
with CLM4.5 and with the MIT ocean model, new cloud microphysics, along
with various other upgrades. We also hope to have some preliminary tests
with the new non-hydrostatic dynamical core (or parts of it), which will
be the basis for RegCM5 !!! This workshop will also focus on the CORDEX
applications of RegCM4, and we hope to get an overview of the different
regional CORDEX activities during the workshop.
So, I hope you will send in an application. Since funding is very limited
a strong incentive towards acceptance of your application (in addition to
the proper qualifications of course) is your willingness to pay fully or
partially your travel and lodging expenses (remember that participants
from economically advanced countries have to provide for their expenses).
The deadline for application is 28 February 2014, plenty of time left but
do not wait until the last minute.
Looking forward to seeing you next year, with my best regards,
Filippo Giorgi
