The CMIP5 data can be obtained from the ESG federation data servers.
There are a number of those, for example the US one @ LLNL is:
http://pcmdi9.llnl.gov/esgf-web-fe
You need to Login using an ESG OpenID certificate. You should select the
ESG federation server node nearest to you to do this, and then use the
Search tool provided to restrict the search to the needed model,
experiment,variable,timeframe,etc. Then add data to data cart. We
usually get the data after this step using the wget method, but you can
also use direct http access to files if you prefer.
