Dear Colleagues,

We encourage you to submit an abstract to Session GC027 of the 2012 AGU Fall Meeting, entitled: Improving the Simulation of Climate Impacts on Agriculture: AgMIP and Related Research.

Session Description: Agricultural models have the ability to simulate the effects of climate on crop yields and trade, making them important tools for examining food security. This session will focus on research that develops the interface between climate, agriculture, and economics, including results from the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP). Topics of particular interest include the creation of climate scenarios for agricultural research, comparisons between statistical and process-based methods of evaluating food production, model uncertainty assessments, the aggregation of point-based crop model results, and methods of using agricultural economic models to inform adaptation strategies.

The 2012 AGU Fall Meeting is December 3-7, 2012 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.

The deadline to submit an abstract is August 8, 2012, 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time. AGU will not accept late submissions. To submit an abstract, you must be an AGU member or sponsored by an AGU member. If none of the authors on your abstract are AGU members, let us know and we can sponsor your submission.
