Dear RegCNETers
I am very happy and proud to announce that the special issue of Climate
Research on RegCM4 is now published and available on line (Volume 52). All
the papers are open access and thus can be freely downloaded even if you
do not subscribe to Climate Research. There are 14 papers there with a
wide range of applications with both RegCM3 and RegCM4 + an intro which
gives a brief history of the model. So I hope you enjoy the issue and
find it useful.
For future reference, in order not to cause confusion between RegCM3 and
RegCM4 usage, if you are actually using RegCM4, please cite as reference
the paper:
Giorgi, F., E. Coppola, F. Solmon, L. Mariotti, M.B. Sylla, X. Bi, N.
Elguindi, G.T. Diro, V. Nair, G. Giuliani, U.U. Turuncoglu, S. Cozzini, I.
Guttler, T.A. O'Brien, A.B. Tawfik, A. Shalaby, A.S. Zakey, A.L. Steiner,
F. Stordal, L.C. Sloan, C. Brankovic (2012) RegCM4: Model description and
preliminary tests over multiple CORDEX domains. Climate Research, 52,
7-29.
I take this opportunity to thank all the authors of the papers for their
contributions, and in particular Richard Anyah, who was the co-guest
editor of the issue.
For your information, we are continuing to clean and upgrade the model and
a new version, RegCM4.3, will be released during the May 7-18 workshop.
So, stay tuned.
with my very best regards to all, Filippo Giorgi
