[RegCNET] getting output at intervals less than 1 hour

Hi RegCM community,

Has anyone run RegCM3 (or RegCM2/RegCM4, it probably doesn't matter which
version) and set the dtout/dtbat parameters to a value less than 1 hour? 

I am trying to get the SRF output at 0.5 hourly intervals. The model seemed
to run OK with dtbat = 0.5, and I have just edited the postproc files to be
able to handle non-integer output timestamps. However, I think the output
files themselves were written incorrectly, because the first time slice is
at hour 12 instead of hour 00 and there appears to be some variable data
missing.

Does anyone have experience with getting output at sub-hourly intervals?
