Jonathan,
   RegCM4 is developed and currently tested against three different 
suite of compilers:
    intel  ranging from 10.1 to 11.0 and 11.1
    gfortran 4.4
    pgi 9.0-3 (no more recent version of this compiler unfortunately)

openMPI-1.4.2 was compiled against each of the three compiler and the 
same for netcdf version 4.1.1.

To benchmark the code we suggest you to use intel 11.1

At the moment the best results seems to come with Intel compiler. There 
is however still a lot of work to do: we are too busy in developing 
version 4.1 than in doing detailed benchmarks :-)

We really appreciate if you send us data the regcm.in file you would 
like to test so we can run it here internally as well and then start 
publishing some numbers on the web site.

We can of course send you a couple of standard benchmarks we are using 
here and on which we have some numbers.

We can of course discuss further by e-mail  about this
