Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) is
recruiting deans and academic personnel from home and abroad.



*I. Positions*

1. Deans of (1) School of Atmospheric Science; (2) School of Remote Sensing;
(3) School of Oceanography; (4) School of Information and Control; (5)
School of Electronics and Information Engineering; (6) School of Computer
and Software; (7) School of Business Administration (under construction);
(8) School of Economics (under construction).

2. Academic personnel

Main fields: Computer and Software, Information Engineering, Sensing Science
and Technology, Instrument Science and Technology, Atmospheric Science,
Remote Sensing Science and Technology, Environmental Science and
Engineering, Management and Economics.



*II. Requirements and salary for deans*

1. Requirements

(1) Honest; (2) Familiar with teaching, research and management, capable in
organizing and decision-making; (3) Doctoral degree and senior professional
title (requirement of professional title could be adequately softened for
doctors graduating from world famous overseas universities); (4) Good
health, younger than 50 years old, which could be adequately softened for
outstanding candidates.

2. Salary and welfare

(1) Annual salary of 1 million RMB or 150,000 US dollars for those who
accord with one of the following conditions: ① winners of Outstanding Youth
Fund or higher ranking scientific and research programs; ② got doctoral
degree overseas and take positions of professors or the alike in famous
overseas universities or institutions, published influential papers in
international core academic periodicals or won important international
science and technology awards in recent 5 years, master important experiment
skills or key technologies in scientific engineering construction.

(2) For those who do not accord with the above-mentioned conditions, NUIST
will offer an annual salary between 200,000 and 800,000 RMB, subject to
concrete conditions.

(3) Settling-in allowance and scientific research startup fund will be

*III. Requirements and salary for academic personnel*

1. Requirements

(1) Domestic and overseas scholars with doctoral degree and senior
professional title;

(2) Doctors graduating from famous overseas universities or postdoctoral
fellows;

(3) Professors and Assistant Professors from famous overseas universities
can apply for part-time jobs (more than one month per year);

2. Salary and welfare

(1) Scholars with doctoral degrees and senior professional titles can be
recruited as Distinguish Professors and be offered an annual salary between
200,000 and 800,000 RMB, subject to concrete conditions.

(2) Doctors graduating from famous overseas universities and postdoctoral
fellows will be recruited as professors and enjoy corresponding welfare.

(3) Salary for part-time overseas scholars will be paid according to the
working time. Please consult for details. Moreover, the international
airfare (economic class, once a year) will also be covered.**



*IV. Procedures*

1. Candidates should fill in the form of “NUIST Dean Application Form” or
“NUIST Academic Personnel Application Form” (download from our website
http://www.nuist.edu.cn) and submit the following documents: (1) application
letter and resume (signature required for authenticity); (2) a copy of
degree and professional title (originals required at interview); (3) a list
of research achievements and a copy of 3-5 publications in recent 5 years
(originals required at interview); (4) work plan and target; (5) two recent
passport-type color photos.

2. The materials submitted are to be reviewed according to the set
requirements and 3-5 candidates will be selected for each position.

3. A panel of experts interviews the selected candidates.

4. Sign the contract.



*V. Explanations*

*    *Deans will work for a five-year term and the contract could be renewed
afterwards. If not, those whose annual salary is 1 million RMB (or 150,000
US dollars) during the term will be paid as follows: overseas scholars will
be offered an annual salary of 80,000 US dollars until retirement and enjoys
the corresponding welfare of retired professors afterwards; domestic
scholars will be offered an annual salary of 300,000 RMB until retirement
and enjoys the corresponding welfare of retired professors afterwards.
