[RegCNET] The units of extinction coefficient

Hello

There is no unit , in fact aext8 represents the optical depth of a given
sigma layer .. The sum(aext8,z=1,z=18) over the 18 level is the 'total
optical depth'. Be careful you cannot interpolate aext8 directly on a
pressure or a z grid since aext8 depends on the sigma layer thickness (
cf previous discussion in RegCNET, the same apply to clwp in RAD
outputs) . What you can interpolate on an other grid is the 'extinction'
(optical depth normalized by layer thickness given in m-1) which has to
be calculated as aext8(sigma)/ dz(sigma) ...
