Dear colleagues,

the deadline is close, therefore we would like to remind you to submit an
abstract to the session NP 3.8 "Geophysical Downscaling Methods" at the EGU
2010 in Vienna

Direct URL: http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2010/session/2096

Session details:

Geophysical systems are characterized by variability on a large range of
scales. Consequently, the resolution of global dynamical models, measurements
and retrievals are often insufficient and downscaling methods are needed to
generate time series and fields with an appropriate spatial or temporal
resolution. This session wants to bring together scientists from all
geophysical disciplines working on downscaling problems. The focus of the
session
will be on new algorithms and the validation and comparison of different
methods, but also state-of-the-art applications of downscaling methods are
welcome.

Contributions are sought both on dynamical and statistical downscaling. Both
scaling as well as non-scaling statistical methods are welcome.

Convenors:
Tobias Sauter (tobias.sauter at geo.rwth-aachen.de)
Victor Venema (Victor.Venema at uni-bonn.de)
Dounglas Maraun (douglas.maraun at geogr.uni-giessen.de)
Erika Coppola (coppolae at ictp.it)

The submission deadline for abstracts is 18 January 2010.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Vienna, 02-07 May 2010.

Best regards,
Your conveners
