play with the convection schemes...by the way, which convection parameterization scheme you are using ? Try Grell with KF closure.

Subject: [RegCNET] simulating rainfall and temperature over the eastern Himalayas

Dear RegCMers

I am learning to use RegCM and for this matter testing the applicabilty of RegCM over the eastern Himalayas. My domain is from 15N to 40N and 75E to 110E. I am only doing a control run and used ERA40 data for driving ICBC. The model fails to capture the heavy rainfall areas and it also under predicts the temperature. In this aspect I would like request the experts some explaination in this regard and infomation on the use of regcm in mountainous areas like Himalayas or Andes(if any)..etc....

Thank you all in advance

Jamyang
