Dear RegCNET,

 The ACC-CCI Workshop will be held at “Sala Conferenze del Rettorato” of
Universita’ del Salento (Piazza Tancredi 7, Lecce, Italy)

The workshop is jointly organized by the:

Physics Department of Universita’ del Salento, CMCC - Centro Euro Mediterraneo
per i Cambiamenti Climatici, Italy ICTP, Trieste, Italy
Meteorological and Astronomy Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University,
Egypt
Societa' Italiana di Aerosol, Italy

General Objective and Scope

The principal aim of the ACC-CCI International Workshop is to involve
scientists and institutions in a discussion forum on the influence of aerosol
on climate. Changes in atmospheric composition by anthropogenic aerosols will
largely affect climate and hence human health, food production, and economy.
The good understanding of processes that contribute to define how
human-produced aerosols affect climate and the reproduction of these
processes in models are main tasks to reducing uncertainties in aerosol
climate effects and producing better predictions of Earth’s future climate An
advanced, multi-disciplinary approach that integrates surface and space-based
measurements with models will have to be developed to achieve the goal of
reducing uncertainties in aerosol impacts on climate.

Workshop Topics

The workshop focuses on atmospheric composition changes by natural and
anthropogenic aerosol, aerosol monitoring techniques from ground and space,
the Climate-Chemistry Models (CCHMs), general circulation models (GCM), and
regional climate models (RCM) that have been employed to examine the feedback
between dynamical, physical and chemical processes. Contributions on
atmospheric science studies of large urban centers are especially welcome.
Topics include:

● Emissions;
●  Photochemistry;
●  Aerosol;
●  Satellite remote sensing of air quality in cities;
●  General circulation and regional climate models;
●  Parameterization of cloud microphysics/dynamics/radiation in models;
●  Dynamics and aerosol radiative effects;
●  Regional climate;
●  Air quality modeling;

Workshop Format
Oral and poster presentations and plenary talks from international experts
