Dear Dr. Bi,

I wonder if you can help me post a job description to the RegCNET list.
Thank you for the help.

Regional Climate/Ecosystem Modeling: Two Postdoctoral/Professional
positions on Regional Climate/Ecosystem Modeling are currently open at the
Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese
Academy of Sciences (CAS). We seek highly-motivated young scientists to
join our research team in investigating interactions between climate
change and ecosystem processes at watershed and regional scales. One of
the goals is to couple regional climate models with ecosystem and
hydrological models to examine the ecosystem response/feedback to future
climate change in China and Eastern Asia. The incumbents will work with a
team of climatologists, ecologists, hydrologists, and soil scientists. The
positions are based in Beijing and excellent computation resources are
available for the project. The working language is English and speaking
Chinese is not required. The positions are supported with competitive
salary and the applicants with non-Chinese citizenship may be qualified
for the .CAS Research Fellowship for International Young Researchers.,
which provides an additional financial support of RMB100,000 per year. The
preferred starting date for the positions is May 1, 2009. Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in atmospheric science or environmental science; research
experience in regional climate models, such as RegCM3, MM5 or RAMS, is
required. Experience in GCM or ecosystem modeling is a plus. Successful
applicants will demonstrate the ability to work independently and to
mentor graduate students in the lab. Please send cover letter, CV,
relevant publications and the names of 3 references (with phone numbers
and email addresses) to Dr. Ming Xu through email at mingxu at igsnrr.ac.cn.
