[RegCNET] a question in running RegCM3

Hi, Zhao:
You'd better let us know which UNIX computer you used, as well as the
domain.param file ?
I guess that it's not a problem of 10 minute resolution datasets,
(of course, you can easily check this point by using 5 minute instead),
at least it's not a problem for LINUX users.
By the way, Ashraf said that he think the dust package (under RegCM/Main)
need to be improved. And he will tell the details later this month.
So you'd better wait for the updated version for dust simulation.
Best Regards,
Bi Xunqiang

    I am a new one to use RegCM3 model. When I ran it to simulate the dust transportation, I found some blocks prevented me from the fluent run.
   The problem is associated with reading SOILCAT.10 in Preproc/Terrain/terrain.f. I have set ntypec=10 in advance. I printed the following sentences intentionally to know what reason caused the mistake. Here are the print sentence and signaled mistakes:
Print sentences in terrain.f:
              print*,'AERTYP2',AERTYP
             print*,'  LANDUSE READ1IN', ilat1,ilat2,irec,'==',ch_tex(1,1)
             print*,'  LANDUSE READ2IN', nxmax,ntex,ibyte,ntypec ; !!pause
             if(AERTYP(7:7).eq.'1')
          &      read(45,rec=irec) ((ch_tex(j,k),k=1,ntex),j=1,nxmax)
             if(AERTYP(7:7).eq.'1') then
               print*,'  LANDUSE READ3IN', ilat1,ilat2,irec,ch_tex(1,3)
             pause
             endif
       c........process slice and store in array stores
Prompted mistakes:
         ELEVATION STD DEV READ IN        217        437        271
 AERTYP2AER00D1
   LANDUSE READ1IN        217        437        271 ==
   LANDUSE READ2IN       2160         17          4         10

       I think that the SOILCAT.10 may have some problems, such as not including global but regional area. Here is size of the data file given by commanding 'ls -lt SOILCAT.10' under UNIX:
-rw-r--r-- 1 kys users 39657600 2006-08-13 04:12 SOILCAT.10
       I have tyied to download another SOILCAT.10, but the same result. I donot know why. Can you do me a favor.
       Thanks
       Sincerely
