Dear RegCM users,
I will use RegCM first time and My Linux knowledge is very little. Where can
I start to use this program? Please give some suggestion.
Regards.

Subject: [RegCNET] Convection schemes and parameters
Hi there RegCMers!
I'm doing some simulations over southern Africa, using a domain
stretching from 0-40S, 0-55E, and was wondering if anyone has found that
a particular convection scheme works best over this region? So far,
I've done some simple validations and it seems like either the Grell
with Fritsch + Chappel closure or the Anthes-Kuo schemes work best.
Both of these schemes, however, lead to spots of strong convection which
don't appear to be realistic. Which parameters can I change and how to
avoid this?
If anyone would be able to give me a word or two of advice I'd really
appreciate it!
Many thanks and best wishes for the festive season!
Fiona
