Dear colleagues,
This is a reminder that the deadline for submitting abstracts to the AGU
Fall Meeting is fast approaching. Abstracts are due not later than 2359
UTC on 6 September 2007. This is a strict deadline and the AGU will not
accept late abstracts.
Please consider presenting your results in session GC17 entitled
"Regional Climate Modeling." There is a great range of interesting
projects in RegCNet and we encourage you to present your results in the
session. (The session description is appended at the end of this
message.) The web page for the session is:
http://www.agu.org/meetings/fm07/?content=search&show=detail&sessid=27
Let us know if you have questions. We look forward to seeing you in San
Francisco!
With best regards,
Ray Arritt

GC17: Regional Climate Modeling
Description: Regional climate models (RCMs) have become standard tools
for studying climate processes on small scales and for dynamically
downscaling global climate model (GCM) simulations to finer spatial
resolution. This session will provide an overview of the current state
of the art in regional climate modeling, including both limited-area and
global time slice models, and will summarize outstanding issues in the
development and application of RCMs. Contributions are solicited on
topics including but not limited to RCM model development; RCM
intercomparison projects; design of RCM experiments for climate impacts
and process studies; effects of resolution and physical
parameterizations on RCM accuracy; RCM performance when applied to
different climate regimes; and diagnostic studies to understand and
address RCM model biases.
