Nigerian Meteorological society (NmetS) is organising an international
conference on
'IMPACTS OF EXTREME WEATHER AND CLIMATE EVENTS ON SOCIO-ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA'
 which will take place in the Federal University of Technology Akure
Nigeria, on 11th -15th November 2007


Papers (oral and poster) can be submitted in any areas of the following
sub-themes

The impacts of extreme weather and climate on agriculture
The impacts of extreme weather and climate on water resources
The impacts of extreme weather and climate on health and healthcare delivery
The impacts of extreme weather and climate on urban planning and tourism
The impacts of extreme weather and climate in transportation (aviation,
land and sea)
The effects of extreme weather effects on socio-economic development in
Africa
Mitigation and adaptive strategies against extreme weather and climate events
