Hi, Siraj, Baris and Moet:
Baris's answer is right, the U, V, T, Q fields in FV_A22071JAN is not in
the standard GrADS format (real*4, direct or sequential format),
instead, it is in INTEGER*2 and direct access format. It's possible
to write a simple FORTRAN code to convert them into the GrADS format.
To write the simple code, you can follow the way I did in subroutine
GETFVGCM of ICBC.f
I wrote those fields in INTEGER*2 format in order to reduce the file
size. (For PS, I didn't do the same way because it will cause large
roundoff error for PS. But it's fine to let U, V, T, Q in INTEGER*2
format).
My suggestion is that you just need check the fields in your
ICBC2071010100 file (or if you like, you could convert them to
Pressure layer by using SIGMAtoP.f and make the comparison).
Hope this email could be the last email related to this question !
Best regards,
Xunqiang
