The Interdisciplinary Laboratory of SISSA, the Max Planck Institute for
the History of Science, The Hebrew University of Herusalem and the
Chinese Academy of Science, with the contribution of Le Fondazioni
Casali, in collaboration with Bonawentura and with the Patronage of the
Municipality of Trieste, organize the international conference
*"The evolution of Knowledge"* to be held in Trieste from 14 to 16 July
2022 .
From the evolution of writing to the industrial revolution, from the
origin of mathematics to the Antropocene: human history is the history
of knowledge and its change. This is the theme at the heart of The
Evolution of Knowledge, an important congress based on the homonymous
work of Jürgen Renn, one of the most quoted historians of living
science, to be held in Trieste from 14 to 16 July.

The complete program of the conference is available at the link
https://indico.sissa.it/event/57/
<https://indico.sissa.it/event/57/>where you can also register for free
until 23.59 on Monday, July 11, 2022.

Alongside the rich scientific program also events dedicated to the
public that will be held at the Teatro Miela (Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi,
3 in Trieste) free admission and without reservation:
- Friday, July 15 at 7.00 pm will be held the event "About school and
university", a dialogue between the philosopher and scholar Nuccio
Ordine, the physicist, and former Director of SISSA, Stefano Ruffo and
Pier Luigi Vercesi del Corriere della Sera;
- On Saturday 16, always at 7.00 pm, there will be a bilingual
presentation of the book Einstein according to Einstein, which tells the
life of the physicist par excellence through his autobiographical
writings. The event will present the authors Jürgen Renn and Hanoch
Gutfreund moderated by Vincenzo Barone. The evening will end at 8.30 pm
with the concert of Ottodix, musical pseudonym of the contemporary
artist and songwriter Alessandro Zannier, entitled "Entanglement".
Inspired by the physical phenomenon of the same name, the concert is a
journey through songs across continents, oceans, polar areas and remote
islands, to reflect on human interweaving and global hyper-connection.

The events of Friday and Saturday evening, are satellite events of the
scientific-literary review Scienza and Virgola.
