Every year in Spain, 80,000+ galgos (Spanish sighthounds) are tortured, 
killed or abandoned after the hunting season.

Galgos are hung from trees, beaten to death, drowned, shot, set on fire 
or abandoned (ill and injured) on the streets when they are no longer 
needed for hare and lure coursing.

FBM-Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert is a non-profit organization based near 
Seville, Spain, committed to rescue and rehabilitate abused galgos. The 
aim is to help find them forever homes as pets, and raise awareness 
about the plight of this mistreated dog breed.
