Registration and grant application are open for the third edition of 
JCOM Masterclasses, the short, intensive training courses to empower 
scientists, senior-middle managers of cultural institutions and other 
professionals to communicate science through different media to various 
audiences.

The four courses – each one lasting five days – include theoretical 
presentation, practical workshop and peer-to-peer learning. Speakers are 
leading professionals in the sector, researchers in science 
communication and experts at an international level.

Participants will improve their personal skills in various fields of the 
communication of science – from the development of interactive 
exhibitions to the conception and management of a visitor centre, from 
the facilitation of discussions on controversial issues to the 
communication of personal research. Participants will have the 
opportunity to present their own projects and discuss them with 
colleagues and tutors.

The four Autumn 2016 courses will beheld from September to December 2016 
at the Adriatico Guesthouse of the International Centre for Theoretical 
Physics, Trieste (Italy).

Standard fee is Euros 950, but 30% reduction is applied to many 
institutions and members of a number of international networks. A 
limited number of ICTP grants are also offered to scientists and 
professionals working in a developing country. The ICTP grants cover all 
participation costs.

JCOM Masterclasses are organized by Sissa Medialab with the partnership 
of SISSA; ICTP, ICGEB, SISSA, and Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste and the 
collaboration of the Trieste Architect Association.
