STUDENT OPPORTUNITY

Post-Doc/Post-Graduate Grant - Engineering Seismology. The National 
Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics - OGS (Italy) 
seeks applicants for a grant  at O.G.S., Trieste, Italy.
Activity: "REGIONAL SEISMIC HAZARD SCENARIOS AND THE CALCULATION OF 
LOCAL SEISMIC RESPONSE". 12 month duration, renewal up to a max. of 8 
years (see the grant here: Official Gazzette of Italy, n. 3 of  Jan. 
09, 2007 - deadline is March 10, 2007). No limitations of 
citizenship. Prerequisities: a) degree or specialized degree in 
geology, physics, mathematics, engineering, environmental sciences; 
b) PhD, or 3-year post-graduate experience in: geophysics; 
seismology; treatment  of seismic signals; soil dynamics; seismic 
engineering; c) knowledge of operative systems and scientific 
programming languages; d) English written and spoken.
